Who is eligible for ESL/ELD support?
ESL/ELD support is available for the following students in TVDSB:
- Students born in Canada who speak a language other than English or a different variety of English
- Students born outside of Canada who speak a language other than English or a different variety of English
One World International Welcome Centre
Newly-arrived students whose first language is other than English (or a significantly different variety of English) and wish to register in a TVDSB secondary school must complete a Language proficiency and Math assessment before they may register for classes.
