Transportation Request - Out of Area 2025 - 2026

A student registered as an “Out of Area” school does not qualify for transportation.

However, consistent with previous years, a “Choice of School Transportation Request” form may be considered if there is an empty seat on the bus.  The complete terms and conditions are listed on the form.

  • A student must apply for ‘choice of school’ transportation annually and be approved by the school board no later than June 27th.
  • Late applicants (after June 27th) or applicants who did not receive a seat may apply after December 1.
  • STS will review the submissions in the order they are received
  • Students who are eligible for transportation are the priority of STS in August and September. “Choice of School” applications are considered after October 1 once the actual numbers of students assigned to the buses are known. STS then attempts to assign students for the first service day after Thanksgiving break.
  • Students who apply for a “Choice of School Transportation” will be notified by STS if the application is approved or denied.

Students and their families must be prepared that transportation for out of area students will not be available for the start of the school year and that there is no guarantee of transportation.
