Safe Schools

Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School

2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Planlearning triangle

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we are focusing on ensuring our incoming and current students know about all of the ways to get involved at Laurier.

We are doing this because we have so much to offer and know that getting involved increases student’s connection to school, sense of belonging, and provides the opportunity to contribute positively to the school community.

Key Actions or Strategies

  • Intentionally reaching out to our feeder schools through electronic communication and outreach by our student leaders and staff.
  • Increasing our communication to current students and caregivers about positive ways to get involved.
  • Continue to run monthly meetings with representatives from all clubs to coordinate and highlight school initiatives and community partnerships.

Community and Home Connections

  • Ask your child about what they’d like to get involved in at school.
  • Try encouraging your child to get involved in both ongoing clubs, and one-time whole-school events at home with your child.
  • Check out @LaurierRams (InstagRAM) and Laurier Rams (Facebook) to see all of the activities happening at the school.
